Assyrian eclipse
is called the eclipse of Bur-Sagal (als o Bur-Saggile, Pur-Sagal, Par-Sagal and Iside-Raki s-rabe [1]) i s the official name (Limmu), which appears in the Assyrian lists of eponyms in reference to the alleged eclipse of the sun. Entry corresponding to 9 year of government Aszurdana III says: In Hebrew, the word equivalents are akallu עקל (akal = bend, turn, distort, contort, zakrzywić) and עקלקל (akalkal = twisting, winding [path]) [2]. Mention of the distorted sun certainly refers to a rare phenomenon, because there is nowhere else in eponimach Assyrian.
